I like to think of myself as a fairly creative chap. I'm always brimming with ideas about this 'n' that 'n' the next thing whether it be lyrics and chords for a song or coming up with funny or touching creative copy. Each piece of copy I have ever come up with has been written down and stored away only for me to stumble across them a few months later when looking for something else - like some proverbial squirrel. I would love nothing more than to become a creative copywriter for an advertising agency, pass one of my adverts in the street, point it out to passers-by and tell them "See that advert there? I helped come up with that." only to be met with a blasé response of "...Good for you, mate" or ignored completely because I'd be standing in the street pointing at adverts. This is where Edd's Surf Shack finally comes in to play: I'll be treating this blog as a place to store and share all my creative work with the world, regardless if some of it's crap. I'll also be using it to let you know what I've been up to. Not only will I get to reach a wide audience, but maybe I can even get the chance to show off a bit as well. Apart from anything else, having all the work displayed in blog form would certainly make it easier for me to gauge which ideas are good, crap and which ones can earn a coveted place in the Hard-Copy Laminated Portfolio to show off to ad agencies whenever it's interview o'clock. Exciting stuff!
